Liverpool will lose star forward Mohamed Salah for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after the home game against Brighton on December 13, 2025.
Due to FIFA’s release date of December 15th, Salah will miss a minimum of three crucial fixtures as he joins Egypt for their Group B campaign (December 21 – January 18).
Salah’s Three Confirmed Misses:
- December 20: vs. Tottenham (A) – Premier League
- December 27: vs. Wolves (H) – Premier League
- January 1: vs. Leeds (H) – Premier League
Should Egypt reach the final, Salah could miss an additional five fixtures, potentially including:

- Arsenal (A) – Premier League
- FA Cup Third Round
- Burnley (H) – Premier League
- Marseille (A) – Champions League
Manager Arne Slot is expected to use Dominik Szoboszlai as the primary replacement on the right wing, with Jeremie Frimpong, Federico Chiesa, and Florian Wirtz also available to cover the absence of the Egyptian captain.
