Uganda has completed preparations to host the 14th East African Inter Parliamentary Games, which will run from December 5 to 17 across five venues in Kampala.
The Parliament of Uganda is targeting a successful title defense as delegations from across the region arrive for nearly two weeks of competition.
This year’s edition will be staged at Lugogo Arena, Philip Omondi Stadium, Mandela National Stadium Namboole, Fufa Kadiba and Hamz Stadium.
Uganda’s teams have intensified training over the past week as they look to retain the overall crown won last year.
Football fixtures will be staggered and played every other day, a scheduling decision meant to give basketball, netball and other indoor sports proper visibility over the course of the tournament.
Beyond the results, the event continues to serve its core purpose of strengthening East African cooperation through sport.
Organisers note that the Games support the spirit of Articles 117 and 119 of the Treaty for the Establishment of the East African Community, which prioritise regional unity and collaboration.
All action will be broadcast live on NBS Sport and the Afromobile app.
