Kigulu will play Luuka in the Busoga Masaza Cup final after both sides advanced from strong group campaigns and convincing knockout performances.
The match brings together one of the tournament’s most experienced contenders and a first-time finalist.
Kigulu return to the final for the fourth time. They first played for the title in 2018 when they beat Butembe on penalties.
They returned in 2019 and defeated Bunha 1-0, becoming the only county to defend the championship. Their third attempt came in 2022, when they lost 1-0 to Bukooli Namayingo.
Luuka arrive at this stage for the first time and will be looking to follow the path of Busiki, who won the championship on their debut appearance in 2023.
Both sides topped their groups. Kigulu led the four-team Nendha group with 9 points after two wins, three draws, and one loss in six matches. Luuka finished first in the Bukowe group with three wins and one defeat.
In attack, Kigulu have scored 9 goals and conceded 4, while Luuka carry a stronger output with 12 scored and only 2 conceded.
Kigulu reached the final by beating Bukono 2 to 1 in the quarter finals and Bukooli Namayingo 2 to 0 in the semi finals. Luuka advanced with a 3 to 0 win against Bulamogi in the quarter finals before defeating Bugabula 3 to 1 in the semi finals.
The final brings together a seasoned Kigulu side and a Luuka team chasing a landmark first title.
