The East African Inter Parliamentary Games athletics programme is underway at Mandela National Stadium outside annex, where lawmakers and parliamentary staff from EALA, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda are competing in a full day of track events.
Races have been running since the early morning, with athletes taking on the 1500 metres, 100 metres, 400 metres and the four by one hundred relays for both men and women.
The organisers say the athletics day is not only about competition but also about encouraging healthier lifestyles and strengthening regional cooperation through sport.
With events still ongoing, the atmosphere remains lively as teams continue to chase both medals and bragging rights.
