Edrine Kalule has been voted Most Valuable Player at the U15 Baseball World Cup Qualifiers in Nairobi after a standout tournament for Uganda, who finished second behind South Africa.
The event ran from December 5 to 7 at Jomo Kenyatta University and featured teams from South Africa, Kenya, Sudan, and Uganda.
Team Uganda stayed competitive through the three days, reaching the decisive clash against South Africa but falling short against the eventual champions. South Africa secured the only available slot to the 2026 U15 Baseball World Cup in Italy.
Kalule, representing Gayaza Baseball Club, emerged as one of the tournament’s top performers, earning MVP recognition despite Uganda missing out on qualification.
His showing has marked him as one of Uganda’s brightest prospects in the sport.
The team returns home on Monday, December 8, encouraged by the progress made and focused on future international competitions.
