Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface will miss Werder Bremen’s Bundesliga game against VfB Stuttgart this Sunday due to a new knee injury, just days after being left off Nigeria’s final AFCON 2025 squad list.
The 24-year-old sustained a knee contusion in a “knee-to-knee” collision, confirmed Werder Bremen coach Horst Steffen.
“The recovery hasn’t been as quick as we’d hoped. I can’t yet say whether he’ll be available for us again this year,” Steffen stated.
This injury further compounds a challenging year for Boniface, whose career has been frequently disrupted by fitness issues, including two previous ACL injuries.
He faces a tight deadline to return for Bremen’s final game before the Christmas break next week against Augsburg.
