Cricket Uganda has suspended player Pascal Murungi from all cricket related activities for three years following a disciplinary process linked to integrity concerns.
The sanction follows the outcome of a Disciplinary Committee hearing held on December 18, 2025, at Lugogo.
In a statement issued on December 19, Cricket Uganda confirmed that the committee found Murungi had engaged in acts that compromised, or had the potential to compromise, the integrity of the game. Investigations are still ongoing into other possible breaches of the ICC Anti Corruption Code.
“Cricket Uganda remains committed to safeguarding the values of cricket and ensuring accountability across all levels of the sport,” the statement read. The governing body added that the decision “reflects our dedication to upholding integrity, protecting the reputation of the game, and reinforcing the standards expected of all participants.”
Cricket Uganda also said it will continue to sensitise all stakeholders, including players, on matters related to integrity in the game of cricket as part of its wider efforts to protect the sport.
