Manchester United defender Ayden Heaven has decided to represent England at the senior level, ending hopes from the Ghana FA that he would switch allegiance ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
The 19-year-old Londoner, who qualifies for Ghana through a grandparent, has become a standout performer under Ruben Amorim.
Despite a shaky start against West Ham earlier this month, Heaven has since flourished in United’s three-man defense, earning Man of the Match honors in Friday’s 1-0 win over Newcastle.
“He is improving every game,” said Amorim. “If he continues to play like that, it is going to be really hard to take his place.”
Heaven, who joined United from Arsenal in February, has previously played for England at various youth levels.
His decision comes as Ghana and England prepare to face off in the same group at next summer’s World Cup.
