Uganda Cranes defender Elio Capradossi has reported back to club duty with FC Universitatea Cluj, linking up with the Romanian side for their winter training camp in Turkey after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.
Capradossi was part of the Uganda Cranes squad at AFCON but did not feature in any of the group matches.
His return to Cluj comes as the club begins a ten day training camp in Antalya, aimed at preparing the squad for the second half of the SuperLiga season. The defender is among several senior players scheduled to join the team directly in Turkey following international commitments.
Universitatea Cluj players regrouped after a short winter break and travelled to Antalya on January 3, where they will be based at the Sueno Deluxe Complex in Belek.
The camp will combine daily training sessions with three friendly matches against Fatih Karagumruk on January 6, Dukla Prague on January 11, and Widzew Łódź on January 12.
For Capradossi, the camp offers a chance to quickly refocus on club football and push for regular minutes as Cluj target a strong restart to their campaign.
Head coach Cristiano Bergodi’s side resumes competitive action on January 18 with an away fixture against Dinamo Bucharest.
