Liam Rosenior is set to become the new Chelsea manager, replacing Enzo Maresca who left on New Year’s Day.
The 41-year-old Englishman moves from French side Strasbourg, which, like Chelsea, is owned by the BlueCo group.
Despite never having managed in the Premier League, Rosenior led Strasbourg to European qualification last season and leaves them sitting seventh in Ligue 1.
Rosenior confirmed a verbal agreement is in place, with the official signing expected in the coming hours.
Coaches Kalifa Cisse, Justin Walker, and Ben Warner will join him at Stamford Bridge.
In a rare move, Rosenior returned to Strasbourg on Tuesday to hold a final press conference, stating: “I will love this club for the rest of my life, but I cannot turn down Chelsea.”
Chelsea, currently fifth in the table, face Fulham on Wednesday. The club hopes Rosenior will be in the dugout for the West London derby.
