Kevin Durant made history at the Moda Center on Friday night, surpassing the legendary Wilt Chamberlain to become the seventh-highest scorer in NBA history.
Despite Durant’s 30-point effort, his Houston Rockets fell 111-105 to the Portland Trail Blazers. The 37-year-old now has 31,435 career points, moving past Chamberlain’s mark of 31,419.
“To have the opportunity to pass him up, it’s pretty sweet,” Durant said, acknowledging Chamberlain’s storied legacy. Durant now trails Dirk Nowitzki by just 125 points for the sixth spot.
