Manchester United have confirmed that midfielder Casemiro will depart the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old Brazilian joined from Real Madrid for £70m in 2022, making 146 appearances and helping the club win both the EFL Cup and FA Cup.
Despite his early success, including a goal in the 2023 Carabao Cup final, his high wages were recently scrutinized by co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe during a squad overhaul.
In a statement, Casemiro vowed to remain focused on the club’s goals for the final four months of the season, stating, “I will carry Manchester United with me throughout my entire life… my complete focus will remain on giving my everything to help our club succeed.”
