Tammy Abraham is set to rejoin Aston Villa after a complex transfer sequence involving Roma and Besiktas.
In a unique move, Besiktas triggered an £11.2m (€13m) obligation-to-buy clause from Roma, only to immediately agree to sell the striker to Villa for £18m. Abraham traveled to the UK on Friday and completed his medical on Saturday.
The 28-year-old England international enjoyed a successful stint in Turkey, scoring 12 goals in 24 games.
While Besiktas expressed a desire to keep the forward, they reluctantly sanctioned the move back to the Premier League.
Abraham previously became a fan favorite at Villa Park during the 2018-19 season, where his 26 goals helped the club secure promotion.
After subsequent spells at Chelsea, Roma, and AC Milan, he now returns to spearhead Unai Emery’s attack.
