Entebbe Ladies Section Set to Stage 2026 Entebbe Junior Open

The Entebbe Ladies Section will host the 2026 Entebbe Junior Open on January 30, with the event set to take place under the leadership of Lady Captain Moreen Okura.

The tournament forms part of the Entebbe Junior Program, an initiative focused on strengthening junior golf development while building a supportive community around the sport.

The Junior Open will bring together young golfers aged between three and 18, offering them a competitive platform to test their progress, interact with their peers, and build friendships through structured play. Organisers say the competition is designed to help juniors measure how far their games have come while enjoying a healthy and encouraging environment.

Beyond competition, the program also targets juniors from the surrounding community, reinforcing the idea that golf is a sport built on consistency, discipline, and long-term commitment. The Entebbe Ladies Section aims to integrate these young players as full participants in the program, fostering confidence, a sense of belonging, and sustained involvement in the game.

The initiative also includes a continuous junior golf clinic where basic skills are taught and reinforced to support steady improvement and confidence on the course. In a move to broaden impact beyond sport, participants will receive basic life skills training, including first aid and yoghurt making, to promote self-reliance and practical knowledge.

According to the organisers, the Entebbe Junior Program is built around value addition, with the goal of developing not only better golfers but also confident, well-rounded, and empowered young individuals.
