Shaka Kariisa, son of Next Media Group CEO Kin Kariisa, shot under par to help the Balderstone Sports Institute Junior Academy win the Central Gauteng High School Super League A Division on January 19 at Observatory Golf Club.
Kariisa’s round played a direct role in BSI securing a convincing six point victory, with the team finishing clear of strong competition from Dainfern College, St David’s Marist Inanda and Jeppe Boys High School.
He teamed up with Alexis Toriani, Kayle Turner and Connor Olfsen for the title win.
BSI head of marketing Roger King said the quartet delivered an outstanding performance to seal the league crown.
Kariisa was rewarded for his display with a sleeve of Srixon Z Star golf balls.
The win marks another strong showing for Kariisa at junior level, who already represented Uganda at the Africa Junior Golf Region IV Championship.
