NBA legend LeBron James was brought to tears Wednesday night during a poignant video tribute in what may be his final game in his home state.
During the Los Angeles Lakers’ 129-99 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the arena played highlights of James’ iconic 48-point performance from the 2007 playoffs.
The 41-year-old was seen wiping his eyes with a tissue, later admitting the occasion “definitely got to me.”
James, now in a record-breaking 23rd season, hinted that retirement is looming. “I have not made a decision,” James said, “but it very well could be” his final year.
Though James struggled on the court—scoring a career-low 11 points in Cleveland—the night remained a celebration of the man who led the franchise to the 2016 NBA title.
“I’m just trying to take everything in,” he added, “and not take the moments for granted.”
