Carlos Alcaraz has made history at the Australian Open, defeating Novak Djokovic 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5 to become the youngest man ever to complete a career Grand Slam.
At just 22 years old, the world number one is now only the ninth man to win all four major singles titles.
After collapsing to the Rod Laver Arena floor in celebration, Alcaraz wrote a simple message on the camera lens: “Job finished – 4/4 complete.”
After a slow start, Alcaraz outlasted the 24-time major champion, showing the physical resilience that has become his trademark.
This is Alcaraz’s seventh Grand Slam title, putting him level with legends like John McEnroe.
Since the 2023 US Open, Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have swept every major title, signaling a definitive shift in tennis’s power balance.
Alcaraz confirmed he plans to commemorate his maiden Melbourne win with a kangaroo tattoo, adding to his collection of Grand Slam ink.
“It’s an honor to put my name on the history books,” Alcaraz said. “Whatever it is, just enjoy and appreciate the life you’re living.”
