USM Alger and CR Belouizdad headlined a successful weekend for Algerian football, officially securing their places in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup knockout stages with hard-fought away wins.
In a roller-coaster 3–2 victory over San Pédro, USM Alger threw away an early 2–0 lead before substitute Mohamed Bouderbala struck a stunning 92nd-minute winner from outside the box. The dramatic finish ensures the Algerian giants move on to the quarter-finals.
CR Belouizdad displayed immense grit to defeat Singida Black Stars 1–0 in Tanzania.
After Abdennour Belhocini scored a 3rd-minute long-range beauty, Belouizdad played the final half-hour with ten men following Mohamed Hammouda’s red card.
Goalkeeper Farid Chaâl proved unbeatable, preserving the win through heavy stoppage-time pressure.
