Real Madrid secured their seventh straight La Liga victory on Sunday, defeating Valencia 2-0 at the Mestalla to move within one point of leaders Barcelona.
Despite missing the injured Jude Bellingham and suspended Vinicius Junior, Madrid broke the deadlock in the 65th minute through Alvaro Carreras, who powered past two defenders to slot home.
Kylian Mbappe then sealed the win in stoppage time, tapping in a Brahim Diaz cross for his 38th goal of the season.
The match also saw Trent Alexander-Arnold return to action as a second-half substitute after two months out with a thigh injury.
While Madrid keep the pressure on at the top, Valencia remain in 17th place, just one point above the relegation zone.
