Supporters of Kigezi Homeboyz FC have stepped up fundraising efforts to back the club’s promotion push in the second round of the FUFA Big League season, with new initiatives focused on squad strength, player welfare and resource mobilisation.
The plans were agreed during a Fans Executive Committee meeting held on January 29 at the club offices in Kabale Municipality, where supporters met club management to align on strategies as the team targets qualification to the Uganda Premier League.
Publicity Secretary Seth Gabriel Akatukunda said the club has already added new signings in key positions to improve competitiveness ahead of the decisive phase of the campaign, noting that fan backing remains central to sustaining performance levels.
As part of the mobilisation drive, supporters organised a fundraising procession on February 13 around Kabale town involving fans and players, collecting financial contributions, food items and other supplies for the squad. Another activity is planned for February 15 during the club’s first appearance in the 2026 Kigezi Corporate League, where supporters are expected to continue rallying resources.
Fans’ leaders have also proposed a monthly Shs 5,000 contribution per member to support feeding and general welfare for players, a move they believe will strengthen stability as the promotion race intensifies.
