155 Goals, No Red Cards as 2025/26 FUFA Women Super League Enters Decisive Phase

The second round of the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League resumes this weekend following a tightly contested opening half of the 2025/26 campaign.

A total of 66 matches were played across 11 matchdays in the first round, producing 155 goals at an average of 2.3 per game. The figures point to a balanced competition, with teams combining attacking quality and defensive organisation throughout the league.

Home advantage proved significant. Home sides secured 27 wins compared to 17 away victories, while 22 matches ended level. In front of their own fans, teams scored 86 goals, with visiting sides contributing 69. The numbers underline the value of home form while also showing that several teams have been capable of earning results on the road.

Matchday three delivered the highest scoring return with 21 goals, highlighting the league’s attacking potential early in the season. In contrast, matchday 11 recorded the lowest total with 10 goals, reflecting tighter contests as teams grew more structured defensively.

Individual performances also shaped the opening round. Two hat tricks and 15 braces were recorded, underlining the influence of key forwards across the division. At the other end, defensive discipline stood out, with 49 clean sheets registered from 66 matches. Only one own goal was recorded, a sign of composure and organisation in defensive areas.

Discipline levels remained controlled. Players received 123 yellow cards, while seven cautions were issued to officials. Notably, no red cards were shown during the first round, pointing to improved match management and sportsmanship across fixtures.

As the competition enters its second phase under the stewardship of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations, attention now turns to the standings and the race for honours. With margins tight and performances evenly matched, the second round is set to define the trajectory of the 2025/26 season.
