Federation of Uganda Football Associations has continued its consultative process on the future of the domestic game, meeting coaches from the Uganda Premier League on Thursday in Kampala.
The engagement, organised by the Football Development Department at FUFA Hotel in Kisaasi in coordination with the Uganda Football Coaches Association, forms part of a broader strategy aimed at shaping the federation’s long term direction. FUFA has already held discussions with academy owners and directors and plans to engage referees, players, fans, the media and government in the coming weeks.
FUFA President Moses Magogo told the coaches the meeting was intended to provide updates and gather feedback from a key stakeholder group.
“We are here to engage. There is a lot going on at the federation so we thought it wise to update you on what is happening,” he said.
He added: “We have called you here to hear your views on what we are doing and to listen to you as key stakeholders in the game.”
Also in attendance were Ronnie Kalema, Executive Secretary of Football Development, Livingstone Kyambadde, Chairman of UFCA, and Paul Put, the head coach of the Uganda Cranes.
Magogo urged coaches to embrace technology and continuous learning to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving global game.
“The better the game, the better for all of us. As coaches, you have a very big role to play, so let us keep improving ourselves,” he said.
He concluded by calling for professionalism and excellence, arguing that quality work ultimately creates opportunity.
“Make your job good and they will look for you wherever you are. Be good and they will pay you well. We are as good as what we put on the table.”
