Kitara host Entebbe UPPC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 32 on Tuesday at Royals Park, Butema, with kick off set for 4pm, as both sides chase progress in a competition they see as a realistic route to silverware.
The two teams come into the tie in strong domestic form, sitting in the top five of a tightly contested league campaign. Their Round of 64 wins were narrow but decisive. Entebbe UPPC edged Ombachi Pride FC 1-0 thanks to a Fazil Tumwine strike, while Kitara needed a John Bosco Byaruhanga goal to see off Obule Earth Quake FC by the same margin.
Kitara will rely on a formidable home record. The Royals are unbeaten at Royals Park since a 1-0 defeat to Buhimba United Saints on October 16, 2025, a run that has reinforced their status as one of the toughest sides to beat in Butema.
Coach Wasswa Bbosa acknowledged the scale of the task ahead, saying, “We are facing an organized and tough opponent. It’s not going to be an easy task, but we are playing at home before our fans, and we know we shall finish the job at hand.”
Entebbe UPPC arrive with defensive numbers that demand attention. The Printers have kept eight consecutive clean sheets, underlining their reputation as one of the hardest backlines to break down this season. In the sides’ earlier league meeting at Bugonga Fisheries Playground, Abdullah Mubiru’s team claimed a 1-0 victory over Kitara, a result that adds edge to Tuesday’s contest.
Cup history, however, tilts in Kitara’s favour. The Royals have won both previous Stanbic Uganda Cup meetings between the sides, beating UPPC 2-0 in 2024 when they competed as Gaddafi FC, and securing a 2-1 away victory in 2025.
Team news could also shape the tie. Bbosa may hand debuts to new signings Shaban Muhammad and Kabon Living, while captain Jasper Aheebwa returns from suspension after missing the 1-1 league draw against URA FC.
With recent league history, strong home form and a resilient defence on display, the Round of 32 clash sets up as one of the standout fixtures of this year’s Stanbic Uganda Cup.
