French superstar Antoine Griezmann could be the next global icon heading to Major League Soccer.
A source close to the player confirmed to AFP on Tuesday that “talks have taken place” regarding a potential move to Orlando City SC.
The 34-year-old Atletico Madrid legend—and the club’s all-time leading scorer with 210 goals—has long expressed a desire to play in the United States.
While no deal is finalized, Orlando City currently holds Griezmann’s “discovery rights,” giving them the exclusive first shot at signing him under MLS rules.
Orlando are looking to bounce back after missing the recent playoffs and have a history of big signings like Kaka.
The MLS transfer window is open until late March, with another window opening in the summer.
Bringing the “Little Prince” stateside would mark another massive win for MLS as it continues to attract elite European talent.
