Novak Djokovic has no plans to hang up his racket yet.
Speaking ahead of the Indian Wells Masters, the 38-year-old Serbian legend confirmed that his competitive drive remains as strong as ever.
“My logic is: why not keep going as long as I have that fire and flair and the motivation?” Djokovic told reporters.
Currently ranked No. 3 in the world, Djokovic enters the California desert following a standout performance at the Australian Open in January.
There, he dethroned defending champion Jannik Sinner in a five-set semifinal thriller before falling to world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz in the final.
Djokovic believes his recent run in Melbourne proves he can still “beat these guys” at the highest level.
He continues to prioritize Grand Slams and legacy events like Indian Wells, where he is a five-time champion.
A win this fortnight would give him a record-breaking sixth Indian Wells title, surpassing Roger Federer.
Despite a backdrop of travel disruptions for other players due to regional conflicts, Djokovic remains focused on the “thrill of competition.”
“I still have that edge,” he insisted. “And I’ll keep on going as long as I feel like it.”
