Victor Wembanyama delivered a career-defining performance on Friday, leading the San Antonio Spurs to a 116-112 comeback victory over the Los Angeles Clippers after trailing by 25 points in the third quarter.
The 22-year-old star racked up 27 points and 10 rebounds, sealing the win with a clutch bucket in the final 16 seconds.
“I’ve got zero left right now,” an exhausted Wembanyama said post-game. “That was one of the best wins of my basketball life.”
For the Lakers, Luka Doncic exploded for 44 points, his 10th 40-point game this season, to beat the Pacers 128-117 in the absence of LeBron James.
Jayson Tatum scored 15 points in his season debut following an Achilles injury, helping Boston Celtics dismantle Dallas 120-100.
The Spurs (46-17) have now won 14 of their last 15 games, moving within 2.5 games of the Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City Thunder.
