Four-time F1 world champion Max Verstappen is set to fulfill a career dream by competing in the Nurburgring 24 Hours this May.
The 28-year-old Red Bull star will swap his F1 cockpit for a Mercedes AMG GT car to take on the legendary 15.8-mile “Green Hell” in Germany.
“The Nordschleife is a special place,” Verstappen said. “This race has been on my bucket list for a long time, and I’m thrilled to make it happen.”
The move is a rare crossover for a top-tier F1 driver.
While Verstappen remains contracted to Red Bull through 2028, his participation in the May 16-17 event—slotted between the Miami and Canadian Grands Prix—signals his growing interest in elite endurance racing, including a potential future run at Le Mans.
The announcement comes amidst a shifting motorsport calendar; the World Endurance Championship recently postponed its Qatar opener due to the ongoing US-Israeli war against Iran.
