Netherlands based Ugandan boxer Willy Kyakonye recorded another professional victory over the weekend after defeating Bosnian opponent Semir Dautovic in a 10 round bout.
Kyakonye, the reigning World Boxing Federation World Heavyweight Champion, maintained his perfect professional record with the win, improving to 13 victories from 13 fights. The Ugandan faced little resistance against Dautovic and controlled the contest to secure the result.
After the bout, Kyakonye said he is focused on what comes next in his career and hopes to earn opportunities to compete for bigger titles on the international stage.
The heavyweight was born and raised in Uganda before relocating to the Netherlands in 2016 to further his boxing career.
Before turning professional, Kyakonye also enjoyed success in the amateur ranks, winning a bronze medal at the African Boxing Championships 2015. His latest victory continues a strong run as he looks to build momentum for higher level fights.
