The NBA has cancelled the Atlanta Hawks’ planned collaboration with local strip club Magic City, which was set for their March 16 game against the Orlando Magic.
While the “Magic City Monday” event featured no adult entertainment at the arena, focusing instead on themed food, music, and merchandise, Commissioner Adam Silver intervened following backlash.
“We have heard significant concerns from a broad array of league stakeholders, including fans, partners and employees,” Silver stated, calling the cancellation the “right decision.”
The Hawks, who had described the venue as an “iconic cultural institution,” expressed disappointment but said they “fully respect” the league’s move.
Despite the setback, the franchise maintained its commitment to celebrating Atlanta’s “authenticity.”
