Uganda Rugby Union conducted a site inspection at Mutesa II Stadium on Wednesday, March 11 as preparations intensified for the opening fixtures of the 2026 Enterprise Cup.
The stadium in Wankulukuku will host two of the cross border quarterfinal matches on March 21, when Uganda’s top clubs begin their campaign in the revived regional competition.
Officials from the union visited the venue to assess facilities and coordinate match day arrangements as the tournament draws closer. The inspection focused on ensuring the stadium is ready to host the opening round fixtures involving Ugandan representatives.
Four Ugandan clubs will compete in this year’s tournament. Stanbic Black Pirates and Platinum Credit Heathens will play their quarterfinal matches in Kampala against Kenya’s KCB Rugby and Kabras Sugar Rugby Club respectively.
Meanwhile, Toyota Buffaloes and KCB KOBs will travel to Kenya for their ties against Menengai Oilers and Nondescripts RFC.
The tournament returns as a cross border club competition between Uganda and Kenya, with eight teams contesting the quarterfinal stage. Winners will progress to the semi finals scheduled for April 11, with the final set for May 30.
Uganda Rugby officials said preparations are continuing to ensure the venue is ready for what is expected to be a high profile start to the competition, with supporters from both countries set to follow the opening round closely.
