World No. 2 Iga Swiatek powered into the Indian Wells quarterfinals on Wednesday, dismantling Karolina Muchova 6-2, 6-0.
The two-time champion strung together 10 consecutive games to halt Muchova’s eight-match winning streak.

The day’s action was overshadowed by a series of retirements.
Elina Svitolina advanced when Katerina Siniakova withdrew with a hip injury while trailing 6-1, 1-1. Svitolina will now face Swiatek in the quarters.
Elena Rybakina moved on after Sonay Kartal pulled out with a lower back issue, while Jessica Pegula earned her first career win over Belinda Bencic, 6-3, 7-6 (7/5), breaking a four-match losing streak against the Swiss veteran.
