Wankulukuku to Host Enterprise Cup Quarter-Finals

Mutesa II Royal Stadium, Wankulukuku will stage two of the 2026 Enterprise Cup quarter-finals on Saturday, March 21, as top Rugby clubs from Uganda and Kenya renew one of East Africa’s fiercest club rivalries.

The Uganda Rugby Union confirmed the venue on Wednesday, following a successful site inspection, and announced that preparations are in full swing for what promises to be an electrifying regional showdown.

“Today, Uganda Rugby conducted a successful site visit at Mutesa II Royal Stadium, Wankulukuku the host venue for the Enterprise Cup 2026 on Saturday, March 21st! Preparations are underway for an epic showdown,” the URU posted on its official social media handles.

Uganda will field four teams led by 2025 Uganda Cup champions Stanbic Black Pirates alongside Platinum Credit Heathens, KCB KOBs and Toyota Buffaloes.

The quartet secured qualification after finishing among the top four teams in last year’s domestic cup competition.

Their challenge arrives from Kenya, which is fielding KCB Rugby, Kabras Sugar Rugby Club, Menengai Oilers and Nondescripts Rugby Football Club to complete the eight-team lineup.

Two of the quarter-final ties will take place in Uganda at Wankulukuku, with Stanbic Black Pirates hosting KCB Rugby and Platinum Credit Heathens facing defending champions Kabras Sugar in another high-profile clash.

The remaining two fixtures will be played across the border in Kenya where Menengai Oilers will welcome Toyota Buffaloes and Nondescripts take on KCB KOBs.

The knockout competition marks a renewed phase of regional club rivalry between Uganda and Kenya, offering clubs from both nations a stage to measure strength beyond domestic leagues.

For Ugandan teams, the home fixtures present an early opportunity to assert control before the decisive stages of the competition.

Winners of the quarter-finals will advance to the semi-finals scheduled for April 11, with the tournament set to climax on May 30 when the region’s top club will be crowned.
