Mikel Arteta has shrugged off claims that Arsenal are adopting a “siege mentality,” insisting his squad remains focused on their internal energy rather than outside noise as they chase an unprecedented quadruple.
Sitting seven points clear of Manchester City, the Gunners face three competitions in the next week.
“You just have to go in that dressing room and feel the mood,” Arteta said ahead of Saturday’s clash with Everton. “The focus is on what we have to do and what we have to improve together.”
Arsenal are in the League Cup final, FA Cup quarterfinals, and the Champions League last 16. Arteta admitted the schedule is intense but called the trophies a “consequence of the process.”
Despite Bukayo Saka scoring only three goals since November, Arteta lavished praise on the 24-year-old, calling his impact “incredible.”
With Pep Guardiola warning that City’s title bid is on the line against West Ham, the pressure is on the holders to keep pace with Arteta’s runaway leaders.
