Ugandan driver Oscar Ntambi and co driver Uthumaan Mohammed claimed victory in the ARC2 category at the Safari Rally Kenya after completing the demanding rally in Naivasha.
Driving a Mitsubishi Evo X, the Ugandan crew produced a composed performance across the rough gravel stages to win the African Rally Championship Category 2 class in what was Ntambi’s debut appearance at the famous event.
The result marks a significant milestone for the Ugandan driver, who successfully finished one of the toughest rallies on the international calendar while collecting valuable points in the African Rally Championship standings.
The Safari Rally is widely regarded as the world’s toughest gravel rally because of its punishing terrain, dust, deep sand and unpredictable conditions, making simply reaching the finish a major achievement for many crews.
Ntambi’s class victory now places him in a strong position ahead of the next ARC round, the Pearl of Africa Rally scheduled for May in Uganda.
