Emma Raducanu has pulled out of the Miami Open as she continues to recover from illness.
The British number one, who reached the third round at Indian Wells last week, is still struggling with post-viral symptoms.
Her withdrawal means she cannot defend the 215 ranking points earned from last year’s Miami quarter-final run.
Raducanu has also opted out of Great Britain’s Billie Jean King Cup tie in Melbourne but is expected to return at the WTA event in Linz in three weeks.
Britain’s Sonay Kartal is also absent with a back injury, while Fran Jones will face veteran Venus Williams in the first round.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka begins her campaign in round two.
The Miami Open runs from 17–29 March at Miami Gardens.
