Rwanda driver Queen Kalimpinya is set to feature in the opening round of the Uganda National Rally Championship in Mbale from March 27 to 29, as she looks to build momentum following her Safari Rally outing.
Kalimpinya is targeting the Mbale event primarily to gain more seat time as she continues to sharpen her pace on competitive gravel.
The rally presents an early opportunity to log valuable mileage in race conditions, with the Rwandan driver keen to translate her recent experience on the demanding Safari Rally terrain into improved performance in the regional calendar.
Her participation adds to the growing East African presence expected at the season opener, which marks the start of a new championship campaign.
Several drivers from across the region are set to use the event as a platform to prepare for the wider African rally season.
Kalimpinya’s decision to compete in Mbale aligns with a broader focus on consistency and development, with the 2026 campaign offering her a chance to steadily build rhythm and competitiveness through regular appearances on the circuit.
The Mbale round will open the domestic rally calendar and is expected to attract a strong field, as teams and drivers begin their push for early championship points while also laying groundwork for the season ahead.
