Joint record Uganda Cup champions KCCA FC secured a ruthless 5-0 victory over Onduparaka to book a place in the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday evening at the MTN Omondi Stadium.
Coming into the tie on a five-match winning run, the ten-time cup champions carried momentum and control over the Big League side from the first whistle.
The breakthrough arrived in the 22nd minute when Sammy Ssebaduka tapped in from close range after a well-worked move initiated by Saidi Mayanja.
Mayanja then turned from provider to scorer eight minutes later, rising at the right time to head home and double the lead after good build-up play involving Filbert Obenchan and Ivan Ahimbisibwe.

KCCA went into the break firmly in charge at 2-0, with their attacking structure and movement causing constant problems.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with Emmanuel Anyama extending the lead in the 69th minute, before Alex Yiga added the fourth in the 76th minute with a composed finish after being picked out by Anyama, who returned late on to head in the fifth after being assisted by debutant Axel Mezui.

The result keeps KCCA’s pursuit of a first major trophy since 2019 firmly on track, while also maintaining their push for a domestic double.
Earlier at the same venue, NEC FC produced a fast start to defeat Lugazi 2-0 and secure their own quarter-final spot, with Gideon Odongo opening the scoring in the 6th minute before new signing Samuel Ssekamatte Kayongo struck two minutes later to seal the win.

In Kassanda, third division side Happy Boyz Kagaba kept their fairytale run alive after edging Six O’Clock FC 5-4 on penalties following a goalless draw in normal time.
Attention now shifts to Wednesday’s fixtures, where 2024 champions Kitara host Bunyaruguru United at Royals Park in Butema, while holders Vipers SC face Iganga United under the lights at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
