Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has withdrawn from Brazil duty with injury and will miss Saturday’s Premier League match at Brighton.
The 33-year-old has not travelled with the Reds, leaving Giorgi Mamardashvili to start at the Amex Stadium.
Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti has called up Hugo Souza as cover for upcoming friendlies against France and Croatia.
Liverpool have not disclosed details of the setback, though Alisson has already missed spells this season with hamstring and minor issues.
Mamardashvili has featured 12 times and will again deputise as Liverpool chase Champions League qualification from fifth place.
