Trent Alexander-Arnold has been left out of Thomas Tuchel’s 35-man England squad for the March internationals against Uruguay and Japan, casting doubt on his future with the national team.
Despite Reece James being injured, Tuchel overlooked the Real Madrid defender, preferring other right-back options such as Djed Spence.
The omission continues a pattern since Alexander-Arnold’s move from Liverpool last summer.
Commentators on the Make Football Great Again podcast called it “a crying shame,” with John Cross insisting Tuchel sees him as “too attack-minded” for his defensive system.
Alexander-Arnold’s last England cap came in June 2025, and critics believe his international career is effectively over under Tuchel.
