LeBron James set a new NBA record with his 1,612th regular-season game as the Los Angeles Lakers edged the Orlando Magic 105-104.
The 41-year-old surpassed Robert Parish’s mark, contributing 12 points, six rebounds and four assists before Luke Kennard’s last-second three sealed the Lakers’ ninth straight win.
“It just kind of happened,” James said. “I wanted to be the best, win titles, MVPs, medals. But these milestones are super cool.”
Elsewhere, Kevin Durant passed Michael Jordan for fifth on the all-time scoring list with 32,294 points in Houston’s 123-122 win over Miami.
Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 40 in a fiery 132-111 victory over Washington, a game marred by a mass brawl and four ejections.
