Orlando City SC have signed French star Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid, completing one of Major League Soccer’s biggest transfers.
The 35-year-old forward, a 2018 World Cup winner, will join as a designated player in July on a deal through 2028, with an option for 2029.
Club chairman Mark Wilf called the move “a landmark moment for our club and city,” while Griezmann said he was eager to embrace Orlando’s ambition and supporters.
Griezmann leaves Atletico as their all-time top scorer with 211 goals. Across his career, he has 298 goals and 132 assists in 792 matches, plus 44 goals in 137 caps for France before retiring from international duty in 2024.
Orlando GM Ricardo Moreira hailed him as “a complete footballer and proven winner” who will elevate the team’s championship ambitions.
