Blacks Power reclaimed the summit of the FUFA Big League table with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Kaaro Karungi FC on Tuesday.
Elias Paul Emokori Oonyu wasted no time, striking in the opening minute to notch his sixth goal of the campaign. Just nine minutes later, 22-year-old Andrea Noll Ogwal doubled the lead, continuing his fine form after scoring the winner against CATDA FC last week.
The hosts rallied in front of their fans, but struggled to carve out clear chances. Their breakthrough came in the 29th minute when goalkeeper Micheal Okiria fouled a striker inside the box. Kaaro Karungi converted the resulting penalty to cut the deficit.
Despite an energetic second half, neither side found the net again. Blacks Power held firm to secure all three points, ending the contest 2–1.
The win lifts Blacks Power to 36 points, level with Kigezi Homeboys FC, who were held to a 1–1 draw by Kiyinda Boys. Kaaro Karungi, meanwhile, remain in deep trouble, second from bottom with 21 points from 20 matches.
Next up, Blacks Power host Kataka FC on Wednesday, April 1, while Kaaro Karungi travel to West Nile to face Nebbi Central.
