Tiger Woods was arrested Friday after a rollover crash near his Florida home, charged with DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to a test, police said.
The 50-year-old clipped a truck while overtaking on Jupiter Island, flipping his Land Rover onto its side. He escaped injury but was described by officers as “lethargic” and showing signs of impairment. Woods passed a breathalyzer but refused a urine test.
Sheriff John Budensiek warned the incident “could have been a lot worse” had another car been approaching. Woods was held for eight hours before being seen leaving jail.
President Donald Trump called Woods “an amazing person” while acknowledging his “difficulty.”
The arrest adds to Woods’ troubled history, including a 2017 DUI and a 2021 crash that left him with severe leg injuries. Despite recent appearances in indoor golf, his future on tour remains uncertain.
