Alpine have condemned online abuse aimed at Franco Colapinto and rejected suggestions of sabotage against the Argentine driver.
Colapinto, 22, was criticised after Oliver Bearman’s crash at the Japanese Grand Prix, but the team insisted he is treated equally alongside Pierre Gasly.
“Any questions about sabotage or not giving Franco the same car are completely unfounded,” Alpine said.
The team also denounced death threats sent to former driver Esteban Ocon following his collision with Colapinto in Shanghai, stressing that such abuse “is not in the spirit of the sport.”
