The University Football League is set to ignite next week as two-time champions Kampala University face off against fearless newcomers YMCA in a blockbuster semi-final clash at the FUFA Kadiba Grounds on Tuesday.
Kampala University, seasoned and battle-tested, will be looking to stamp their authority and edge closer to a third crown. But standing in their way is a YMCA side that has already defied the odds to reach this stage in their debut campaign.
With nothing to lose and everything to gain, the newcomers promise to bring unpredictability and passion to what is expected to be a fiery contest.
In the other semi-final, St Lawrence University, last season’s runners-up, will lock horns with Mutesa I Royal University on Thursday in Masaka. St Lawrence will be determined to go one better after falling short in the final last year.
Both semi-finals will be played over two legs, with aggregate winners advancing to the prestigious final.
