St. Mary’s Kitende captain Livingstone Kulata and head coach Hassan Zzungu have both expressed confidence and readiness ahead of Thursday’s CAF African Schools Football Championship semi-final against Benin in Harare.
Kulata pointed to the team’s final preparations and expects a tough contest but remains optimistic about the outcome.
“We have had a good last training session as we get ready to play Benin tomorrow (Thursday). They (Benin) worked hard to get out of the game and this is the reason I expect a challenging match. But, I am hopeful, we shall battle and eliminate them,” Kulata said.
Head coach Zzungu echoed the captain’s confidence, highlighting the players’ mindset and the team’s preparation after studying their opponents.
“The last training was good and the response of the players is good. The attitude is good and we shall go to fight for a win. We looked at the Benin team and have planned accordingly. The attitude of the players is positive and we have prepared well,” Zzungu said.
Uganda represented by St. Mary’s Kitende go into the semi-final after topping Group A with seven points, scoring 10 goals and conceding once.
