The 2026 Kyambogo Ultra Challenge Run has been officially launched, with organizers pledging to use the event as a platform to champion inclusion and support for university students with special needs.
Unlike previous editions, proceeds from this year’s run will directly fund improved facilities for students with special needs at Kyambogo University, while also driving awareness about inclusion across higher education institutions.
Scheduled for May 2, 2026, all races will start and finish at the university cricket oval.
Organizers expect at least 1,500 runners to compete across three categories: 50 kilometers, 25 kilometers, and 10 kilometers.
Every finisher will receive a medal and a fruit tree, a symbolic gesture that combines personal achievement with environmental conservation.
By aligning sport with social impact, the Kyambogo Ultra Challenge Run is positioning itself not only as a premier endurance event but also as a rallying point for international attention on inclusive education.
