World No 1 Aryna Sabalenka has withdrawn from the Stuttgart Open after failing to recover from an injury sustained following her Miami Open triumph.
The 27-year-old, a four-time finalist at the event, said she was “not ready to compete” despite efforts to return in time.
Her absence delays the start of her clay season, with the tournament beginning April 13.
