Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez will miss Sunday’s Premier League clash against Manchester City as the club upholds his two‑match suspension.
Fernandez was banned after praising Madrid in an interview, sparking speculation about a move to Real. Despite apologising, head coach Liam Rosenior confirmed the sanction remains in place.
“He’s apologised to me, he’s apologised to the club, and we’ll deal with that after a massive game on Sunday,” Rosenior said.
Chelsea, sixth in the table and chasing Champions League qualification, will also be without Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah, and Levi Colwill.
Rosenior added Fernandez could return after City, but only once “a few hurdles” are cleared.
