The Federation of Uganda Football Associations has confirmed that the draw for the 2026 FUFA Women’s Cup will take place on Monday, April 13, with proceedings set to be broadcast live on FUFA TV from 10am.
A total of 40 clubs will take part in the seventh edition of the competition, drawn from the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League, the Elite League, regional leagues and one non-league side.
The tournament will retain its knockout format, with eight teams from the 2025 edition receiving automatic qualification to the round of 16. These include holders Amus College WFC, alongside Kampala Queens FC, Uganda Martyrs Lubaga FC, She Corporate FC, St. Noa Girls FC, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, Lady Doves FC and She Maroons FC.
The opening round will feature 32 teams, with regional and selected Elite League sides placed in one pot and top-tier and leading Elite League teams in another. Fixtures will be drawn across the two pots, with the lower-ranked sides hosting.
Winners from the preliminary round will advance to an open draw in round two, before being joined in the round of 16 by the eight seeded teams. From that stage, the competition will proceed with open draws through to the final, which will be staged at FUFA Stadium Kadiba.
The competition continues to grow in scale, with clubs from across the country represented, including top-flight sides such as Makerere University WFC and Olila High School WFC, as well as emerging regional teams.
Amus College WFC head into the draw as defending champions after winning their first title in 2025. Previous winners of the competition include Olila High School WFC, UCU Lady Cardinals, Makerere University (She MAK), Uganda Martyrs Lubaga and She Corporate.
The 2026 edition marks another step in the expansion of women’s football in Uganda, with increased participation and a nationwide footprint shaping this year’s competition.
